watchOS 3 causes unresponsive touchscreen and occasional freeze

After updating to watchOS 3 my Apple Watch Sport has had the following incidents:

- frozen in the "Dock" screen (had to force a reset by pressing both buttons)

After opening the Dock I could see the Messages app, but the watch stopped responding completely - no touchscreen response, and the side buttons did not work as well.

Waited a few minutes to no avail, and reset the watch by holding both side buttons.

Side buttons would work but touchscreen would not. I could not select any on-screen options.
